On the FROG kit:
-- all ribs (wing, tail, etc) are overstated; sandable with caution for other details.
-- sink marks on the upper side (of course) of all 4 float halves about halfway along; fixable with putty with caution for details.

Matchbox...so far...

1. The Revell issue, at least, has some pretty hefty sink marks under the fuselage.

?? 2mm offset -- that's 144 mm or near 6 inches. I don't have any engineering data or rigging plans but working from a few 1/72 or 1/48 drawings, I suggest maybe .75mm at the most in 1/72.

The Airfix lacks the breather tubes, present on the M'box, forward of the windshield. Mine also lacks a windshield. All will have to be scratched, alongside that wing light.

On the Airfix kit, what about the arrestor hook? No parts given for that in the kit.

I built the FROG version with floats years ago and I still have my leftover FROG parts for the wheeled version which includes the arrestor hook and the panel with the depression for the arrestor hook - I will use these in my build as a solution to this problem.

Matchbox - The oil cooler on the fuselage side is just a square box. No recessed area for the tail hook.
