Classic British Kit Fairey Swordfish Chat

A fast and furious month-long build, to take place during July, 2011. Gentlemen, grab your string bags (either Airfix, Matchbox or FROG in origin). We have a running start.
Each builder is to have a unique build (i.e There will be no two Eugene Esmondes in this GB).
For further information, please PM either JRatz, Brews or PaulBradley.

The Beaufighter, contrary to many boxart illustrations, would carry either torpedo or rockets and not both.
What is the situation with the Stringbag? Both, or one or the other?

I am having a ball so far. Lots of good old fashioned model building. The only actual new technique this time around will be using E-Z line.

I'd never noticed before, but yes, it does have the off-set fin.
Not sure about the metal skin, because mine has the rocket rails mounted and these are moulded to a plate.

Or is the plate big enough to hide any smooth area?

The skinned surface starts at the 3rd rib outboard of the fold line (ie, the 4th rib) and goes to the 7th rib inboard of the wingtip, which is about midway along the aileron.

On the Coastal Command black Swordfish, the rocket heads were black, the main body was black and the tail fins were black. The rocket rails were also, er... black.
