Rhubarb Gallery

Here post 1-2 images of your completed 'Rhubarb' aircraft.

Do not discuss the construction of the model, or make comments on other models -- that should all be done in the respective build thread.

Here's my finished build,
Airfix 1/72 Spitfire Mk Vb,

I realised while taking pics that I'd forgotten to paint the leading edge ID stripe and this is my first attempt at weathering so go easy.

Airfix Spitfire Mk IXc
Scale 1/72
Built by Splash

No. 611 Squadron was among the first to take the new Spitfire Mk. IX into combat, receiving their new aircraft in July 1942.
BS451 represents the early production Mk. IX standard, with Merlin 61 engine, C-type wing and large cannon blisters. This aircraft had a long and successful operational career. It subsequently served with three Polish units, Nos. 315, 303 and 308 Squadrons in Northolt during 1943. In No. 303 it was flown by Sqn Ldr Jan “Kon” (Horse) Falkowski, carrying the markings RF-M. Overhauled and transferred to No. 229 Squadron in 1944, the aircraft survived the war and was sold to SAAF in 1947.

A Supermarine Spitfire Mk IIa finished as the aircraft of P/O William Dunn, 71 Sqn RAF, Early August 1941

Bill Dunn was the first American to become an Ace flying with the RAF's Eagle Squadrons.

The Tamiya Spitfire Mk I in 1/72 was the basis, with the 3D-kits Rotol Conversion set and decals.
