John's Westland Whirlwind
Re: John's Westland Whirlwind
But wait, there's more. Order in the next 10 minutes (cause John can't do this all day) and we will include a Starfix Spitfire and Bf109 at no extra charge.
Besting 60 years of mediocre building of average kits in the stand off scale

Re: John's Westland Whirlwind
You guys crack me up ....
Well, I'm sure I will not make 30 June. I've had almost no bench time in last week or so, none today, none tomorrow I'm sure and certainly not enough to do final assembly, paint and decal.
The wing is mounted to the fuselage, albeit with a slight leany issue to the fin/rudder. The nacelles are mounted to the wing. I'd like to get the horizontal tailplanes on tomorrow and address the flaps & rear nacelle portions. Since I'm doing this on the ground, I want a slight "bleed-off" flap down position as seen in many photos.
But most importantly, our 3-year old granddaughter arrives tomorrow and so bench time takes a distant 2nd to annoying my daughter by spoiling her daughter rotten ....
Anyway, this build will probably finish over in Aviation Modelling with my 2 Whirlwinds in progress there ...

It's my model and I'll do what I want with it.

Re: John's Westland Whirlwind
OK, I score a DNF on this one .... here's as far as it got ....
Although I had problems with the kit, that wasn't the problem -- just too many other things going on.
I guess the good news is that since I'm now not doing this for the Rhubarb GB, I can finish it in the Dieppe scheme, which I kinda wanted to do anyway ....
