MackemPete's Bad Boy
Re: MackemPete's Bad Boy
Look at my chop shop thread, the pilot sitting on the wing is how teh RE 2000 model had it set up!
What a crazy feature to copy!

Re: MackemPete's Bad Boy
How about a little progress report?
I have been a little busy this week, the call of the cycle is just too great!, but I have made some progress. I mentioned how rough the molding is earlier but managed to sort that out a little on the nose, here it is with a coat of hu106
But where the wings meet the underside of the fusalage I thought it too difficult to attempt, so I left it! I know AndrewR has built this kit and also mentioned this problem.
Here with 2 coats of Revell 76
And to completely bring you up to date
Everything in this picture is painted but you gotta look close!
I've been enjoying all your work lads and watching with interest, even though I don't always comment.
Keep it up guys
Pete

Re: MackemPete's Bad Boy
i have just sprayed with Tamiya fine white surface primer, and I'm going to shamelessly ignore the problem. It's underneath, so it won't be noticeable to the viewing publicMackemPete wrote: But where the wings meet the underside of the fusalage I thought it too difficult to attempt, so I left it! I see some cool tonal variations in the ocean gray uppers. I don't know if they were intentional or not, but they look good.

I gave it another coat of the 106 then cammoed it up with 2 coats of Revell 68.
Next was the guns and masked with 1 coat of yellow.
I'll 2nd coat the yellow later then get a shiny coat on ready for decalling on the morrow!
Thanks for the interest lads
Pete

No mate, it's just a thinned with water 1st coat of hu 106 straight on to the plastic, it's gone now though after the 2nd coat!Softscience wrote:I see some cool tonal variations in the ocean gray uppers. I don't know if they were intentional or not, but they look good.

That's looking good Pete. It looks good in the camo. My white Sea Hurricane is waiting for decals too, I got a bit sidetracked by the Spitfire, as one or two (well pretty much everybody) has been nagging asking if it's finished
Cheers
