Re: Dirk's 1/72 Academy US A Typhoon
yeah it would be worthless to ask at this time. Last night was my sons first game (Traveling Baseball) and I am one of the coaches. We lost 7 - 22. By the time we got home and settled there was little motivation for modeling. Kids baseball games can take a lot out of the parents especially when you're coaching them. Maybe tomorrow after a little batting practice I'll be more motivatedAndrewR wrote:No, I won't say it. Promise.

We have the same thing today. Graham's school is doing the end of year presentation of work at 2 pm, then he's appearing in the French play at 4.30, and then his last soccer game is at 6.30 pm. I'm exhausted just thinking about itDirkpitt289 wrote:yeah it would be worthless to ask at this time. Last night was my sons first game (Traveling Baseball) and I am one of the coaches. It's the carburettor intake trunking. The 'acorn' in the middle of the radiator matrix is the intake.carlos wrote:didn't know there was a bulge under the fuselage in there.

A-ha - that makes sense - thankspeebeep wrote:It's the carburettor intake trunking. The 'acorn' in the middle of the radiator matrix is the intake.
This is what I've done to mine so far (port side the same)
Will probably also cut off the molded flap and make a single-piece replacement - and will have to do summat about that cockpit - might also do it 'in-flight', as the undercart is truly awful.
Won't be doing any more for now though, getting on with a Mossie for the Rhubarb build
Enough of my 'Tiffie' though - don't wanna hi-jack Dirk's build-thread
Currently on bench: ICM 1/72 Tupolev Tu-2

Start another thread, that's what forums are all about! You might find some tips in my Airfix Tiffie build thread over at ATF.carlos wrote:Enough of my 'Tiffie' though - don't wanna hi-jack Dirk's build-thread

Re: Dirk's 1/72 Academy US A Typhoon
Ok last we left my typhoon I had given it a cote of white primer.
Then I masked the area for the Typhoons recognition stripes.
next the bottom color is applied.
Then I realized I didn't do the wing tip lights. Better late than never
Till next time, thanks for looking

What do you use to glue them in? I tried doing the wingtip lights like that once, and ended up breaking the assembly out each time I tried to sand it.

Yes, please elaborate on your technique there. I can't work out exactly what it is you've done from just the photos.
