Great demo, I've got to try that. The idea of cutting a bunch of wavy pieces then fitting them like a jigsaw is interesting.
I remember freezer tape, just not had it around for a while ...

Freezer tape is like masking tape but very low tack. Hey Tommy, great work. One technique I use to reduse masking is leaving horizontal stabilizer off the fuselage when painting camo. In doing so I sometimes paint the bottom by mistake. Watching the Airacora thread made me laugh out loud. Great work as it is realy coming together.

That's a great tutorial on masking Tommy. Would you consider posting a version in the Finishing Tips section please?

Cheers

Thanks guys for all the compliments! :)

I'll post a photo of the freezer tape in its original packaging (I have one around here that is still unopened) and also do a proper demo for the tips section of the forum.

I used to find the tape in the super market (the Scotch brand) but I don't see it on the shelves anymore in my area. I just order it online now from various places that sell it. Its called Scotch Freezer Tape Cat.# 178. It is actually meant to be used in the freezer to seal foods that are wrapped in paper, or plastic, or foil. As was mentioned earlier, it is low tack, conforms well to the irregular surfaces and about 99.999999% does not peal away any paint. I actually have never tried Tamiya tape so I can't make a comparison.

I HATE those sort of photos!
I spent a little bit too long trying to work out how you'd stuck things to the wall...and, perhaps more sadly...why!?!

For an ancient Revell kit that is scrubbing up pretty damn good. Well done Tommy.
