Re: OT's Mig-19 FINISHED
Inspired by BlueSteels tank & as the Huey is already represented in this group build I thought I would inject some of my own Commy Iron[\i] in the form of a North Vietnamese Mig-19. I have some decals & a KP kit.

This Little Miggy.
Here we go.
This was a 99p bargain as it is unboxed.
I will also do it in flight as the U\C is rubbish and it comes with a pilot:

Re: OT's Boss Hog
I haven't seen a lot of 1/72 Mig 19 kits. That said who makes some Mig kits? I look ofrward to seeing this built.

Re: OT's Boss Hog
I must warn you that this kit is as rough as a badgers derriere! Lots of rivet detailing to be removed.

It's strange, but there are not a lot of Mig 19 in 1:72, and are average all...

Re: OT's Boss Hog
I took Merlins advice and removed the locating pins as they are a bit off.
Not too bad a fit really.
I hope to get the wings attached today and then on to the next problem. Cue Queen music:
FLASH (ahh, ahh, ah)
More to follow.

Re: OT's Boss Hog
A little more progress today:
Since this was taken the tail planes are on despite the RH one missing it's locating hole! Plenty of putty is being used to even out the ill fitting parts.
Now on to fitting all the little lumps, 32 in all.

Re: OT's Boss Hog
Things have moved on a bit with this one. I painted it silver but then decided that I didn't want just another silver Mig so I am going for this option:
I applied a coat of Klear before the green. After a couple of coats of paint I will give the whole aircraft a very light sanding to reveal the silver underneath. Hopefully it will look pretty worn like this:
So I applied the first coat of green:
I will try to get a second coat on this lunchtime.
Wish me luck.
