I have been tinkering away for a couple of weeks at this now, as time is scarce, but I am quite pleased with the outcome:

And the engine has its new bits added:

The stubby wings and weapons pods are also together so it should start to take shape quite quickly now. :)

You should be proud, that interior looks amazing and if memory serves me right it looks like you've started to replace some of the missing engine parts. It's looking good

Sorry to confuse you Bruce, it is my modelling time that is in scarce supply at the moment due to the fairly good weather. ( I do garden maintenance so spend most my time working outdoors at this time of year) hence my lack of time to visit/comment on the other builds on here.

Chip, this is looking so fine. Great cockpit work. The original Revell issue of this kit had a clear lens nose piece were the first landing light was placed. It was later re-located to the undersurface. Revell had plans for the Bell Model 209 (N209J) that was the test bird for Bell-Textron.

Keep at it it looks great.

Thanks guys. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare

Thanks for the tip about the clear lens nose piece Jeff, I thought it was another missing piece then found it hiding amongst my F4 bits! Go figure :???:

The snake is finally coming together, and all the seams have had a layer of filler to try to get it to look half decent:

The short-shot fuselage piece has been filled:

Thanks for looking. :)

Looking very nice. If you desire an early Snake, a clear nose piece is fine. Later ones had a solid nose painted to match the overall color.

Nice work on the short shot fuselage.

Just time for a quick update:

All the seams have been sanded, and the canopy fitted after a bit of tweaking.

Skids are on and repaired with plastic card and filler.

The weapons pods and stub wings are the only parts of this build that actually fitted together quite well.

Next stage is to scratch build the chin turret  Here we go again.

Great build Chip, lovely clean work.

The scratch building is top notch.
