Re: Mikeew's Electronic Destroyer EB-66 E
With nose weight added and cockpit installed I got the fuselage together and it became clear that most of my detailing was in vain as only the front pilots station will be seen to any vantage with the canopy on.

Interesting cockpit/canopy arrangement. Now that's something I hadn't noticed before (OK I haven't spent late night studying the B-66). One of those things you may only find out by building a kit.

Re: Mikeew's Electronic Destroyer EB-66 E
Its been a bit of a fight to get this far, every mating surfaces needed sanding/filling/rescribing etc.
The wings were an especially poor fit. I used Squadron Green stuff to blend the step then Vallejo fine white putty to skim the top of the Green Stuff and fill pin holes that inevitably appear in Green Stuff if used in quantity like this. The tailplanes were setup in a jig to set the correct upward angles.
I then sprayed some Alclad Grey Primer along major joints and seams to check how they looked as it difficult to see with white plastic. unfortunately there is still some filling and remedial work needed along the lower fuselage seam and te engine nacelles, nothing a drop of CA and accelerator can't fix, but a pain non-the-less.

Green Stuff's tag line should be "The filler than need filling"

I can see what you mean re:Thunderbirds OT, very much so!
James, I have a old tube of Green stuff, I think that why its a bit crap.
Don't use it that frequently TBH, but it does have its uses now and again.

Re: Mikeew's Electronic Destroyer EB-66 E
OK, we're getting somewhere now!
Main painting is Humbrol 28 Camouflage Grey for the undersides, Gunze Aqueous H309 Green FS34079 for the darker green, Humbrol 117 US Light Green for the other and Gunze Aqueous H310 Brown Fs30219 for the tan. The black panles are Gunze Aqueous H12 Flat Black. Bit of a miz of acrylics and enamels, but it works for me! Still need to do a couple of touch ups then I will mask and spray the u/c bays Alclad Aluminium.

Nice Mike. Those Humbrol shades look really nice.

Good to know it's not just me who mixes acrylics and enamels. I've never had a problem, despite the scare stories you here.

Me too James, never have problems, just allow each to dry thoroughly before putting the next colour on.
That said, if you thin Acrylics with Iso Alcohol it dries in next to no time. Then thin the enamels with cellulose and they too dry off within an hour or so rather than the quoted six hours for Humbrol.

Re: Mikeew's Electronic Destroyer EB-66 E
I have decalled the beast now and added the undercarriage and their associated doors etc.
Also added some staining and washes. The engines still needs the seams sorting as they have cracked in a couple of places, the engine pods are only dry fitted here.
