While I'm waiting for the PE dive Brakes to arrive I decided to look toward the engine cowl flaps

Using the left over materials from a Molson XXX beer can I cut out the material I needed

It needs to be dressed up a bit but it fits and despite this photo looks ok

Primmer applied and now I see what needs some more attention

Thanks for looking

Good stuff, Dirk. You're bringing that kit up to the current century.

I made a trip down to the LHS yesterday only to find out that the PE dive brakes I ordered are out of stock. The owner is going to try to get them from another distributor but I'm not sure I'll have them in time. Regardless I'm still moving forward. Last night I did some more work on covering the engraved star on the fuselage. I'm hoping to be able to start painting soon. Of course I realized I still have to replace the kit oil cooler intake.

It's coming down to the wire with this one. I got the white painted on the other night and after a few days drying time I sprayed the Intermediate Blue last night. Boy was it nice to spray something other then white and have it come out looking good.

I'll post the photos of round 2 later one. Oh, and as of right now I still don't have my new dive brakes. If I have some time after work I'm going to swing by and see if they are in yet.

Before going to my club meeting tonight I took a small detour to the LHS hoping to get my dive brakes but it seems they are still sold out. So it looks like this one won't be getting off the ground but I'm going to press on till the end. I hope to have some photos to follow soon.
