I'm doing fine Stefano but I'm a bit disappointed I won't be able to finish this one on time. Thanks for asking

You have done a master's job on this kit, Dirk. No need to feel badly. When the PE get in, you'll finish in no time. Something to post in Aviation Modeling.

Dirk,

I want to give you lots of banter for not finishing, but somehow it just wouldn't feel right. You could have had the Dauntless finished in a couple of days if you built it 'as is', but you chose to improve it immensely and I would say it's practically unrecognisable next to its parent kit.

Pity about the PE, but as Jeff says, it'll just give you something to show in Aviation Modelling in the near future.

regards,
Martin R

Thanks guys for the kind words. After what I've witnessed here in this GB it means a lot. Of course I have a way of dishing it out so I wouldn't be offended in anyway if you did send some banter my way martin. ;-)

I feel your pain Dirk.
As you know, I tried drilling out my own dive-brakes too, with much the same problems you encountered - fingers crossed yours come back in stock soon.

The rear-gunner's station is superb, and I really do like the idea of beer-can material for scratching parts - plus, it's a great excuse to give to SWMBO..

Here is where I'm at now. The only decals I've put on so far are the Stars and Bars

Now I'm in the process of painting the canopy frames. Eventually I should start working on the crew. ;-)
