Just got the bad news this morning about my Kate. She was lost in transit. They are going to ship me a new one but I have no clue when its going to arrive so I think I'm going to go with plan B and do the Testors Dauntless I have in the stash. Its a garbage of a kit (Right up there with Starfix if you ask me) but I guess that's all part of the fun of modeling. Seeing if you can make something reasonable out of a pile of *EXPLITIVE*. I also have an Airfix Helldiver that I was thinking of doing but if you add that to the Dauntless that's a LOT of tiny little holes to be drilled out for the dive brakes.

With two kits at the ready and a third on deck I'm chomping at the bit to start this one. :-D

Yep, bit chomped here too. GB kicks off and the kids go back to school on the same day, I'm a happy happy boy!

Ah, that's why we've not heard much from you. Good to have you back working.

Well the start horn has sounded in most places and we are officially underway. I hope that we all get a good start and more importantly can maintain it throughout the allotted time frame. ;-) ;-)

Press on with Pride boys!!

This just came in today. It only took 6 weeks or so.

Since I have decided on some different subjects for this build I will save it for the Perl Harbor group Build that should be happening some time in December.

I don't think anybody answered you on that one. AFAIK, these have only been kitted with the Series 2 Airfix Mosquito FBVI (EG*T). However, it's a small matter to sand off the HE warheads of other 3" rockets and make the ends a little pointier, or simply replace with rod and sand to shape. For Airfix's 1:48 Mosquito, I did that for one rocket, and it's been my intention for the past couple of years to make a silicon mould and some resin copies. As they say, the road to Hell is paved with good intentions :)
Thanks for the response, Bruce. I took it from the initial lack of replies that noone had any particuarly bright ideas.

I quite fancy doing the "2 tiered" late-style rocket rail configuration. As this looks (to my uneducated eye) no more complicated than attaching 2 missiles one above the other and hanging them from 1 rocket rail, I may even manage it. Have to build the guard rail between the rails and the underwing tanks, though. Decisions, decisions.

Martin R

Go for it Martin, there was a build on Hyperscale of a 48th Mossie with that rocket layout..

Looks good on a base, anybody considering a base or diorama?

I'm thinking I might have a go at a small sea base.

Cheers

That's strange!
The answer is no, by the way.

However, if I click on your name, which takes me to your profile and then click on the Search Users Posts, I can find your thread.
Here's a link;

I also noticed that Tommy appears to have two Kate threads, each being posted by Guest.

I'll ask the Webmaster, flakmonkey.
