Ian's Halifax

Post by Ian »

I'm in - with a Revell (Matchbox) 1:72 Halifax.
I must admit to having previously starting this kit. The main interior (less the seats) have already been assembled. I'm sure the 10 mins or so I spent doing this won't preclude me from joining in.
I'll be building either the B.I or B.II version, as Mrs. Ian likes glazing nearly as much a I don't like masking!
Roll on Feb 1st.

And here are the five pieces previously stuck together -

This morning I have mostly been painting interior parts black. No pics of that so far as it's just black.

Nice. I have this kit so I'll follow your progress with interest.

I've gotten a few bits and pieces done in the last week. The interior is painted. The front and rear turrets are assebled. The fuselage halves are together. The wing halves are together. The outer engines are assembled and attached to the wings. Will take a pic or when I get home tonight.

That cockpit is nice - I wasn't expecting much beyond a post for the pilot to sit on...

Same here, I think it's the most detail OOB Matchbox cockpit I've seen.

A few photos to prove I am working.

Rear end

I have a nasty piece of plastic missing in front of the canopy

There is some detail in the bombardiers compartment

The outer engine nacelles fit quite nicely but will need filling to get rid of the joins and sink marks.

But she's coming along nicely. Sorry about the shaky pics - super macro and low light levels really don't mix....

Looking great Ian  I have the same missing bit of plastic on the front of my Halifax and I'm using the alternate nose, it may be deliberate :???:

A small tripod would be a huge help, and relatively inexpensive.
