Yep, made sure i got that, its sat on top of the kit box all ready to go some good tips and pictures in there very useful.I accept each to their own but to me it looks like a Halifax and that's good enough. If someone wants to chop the engine nacelles about fair play,i applaud them for having the skills to do that,i don't so its out of the box

I'm the same, 99% of my kits are built as the manufacturer intended . If it looks like one it is one , probably cos i'm too mean to part with cash for aftermarket parts!

I have this kit in the stash so I'll have to look out for that although it's not so easy to get in Ireland. Which issue is it in? Volume 18, Issue 1?shangos70 wrote:Read this months SAMI , theres a full build in there and all issues noted i think .

Just realised this isn't the one I have in the stash! It's the one Ian is doing or are they one and the same just different boxart?

Re: BROMO'S HALIFAX Mk 1/11
You carry on mate no problem, you talk to yourself as much as you like Tonight is being spent going through the instructions making notes on which parts are relevant to the GR,and more annoyingly which parts are relevant that the instructions dont tell you about at all I shall later be surfing the net looking for pictures to give me more clues as to which bits i need to use and which ones i don't.I have to say that compared to other kit manufactures i find Revell instructions to be the worst by far.

Re: BROMO'S HALIFAX Mk 1/11
Well thats the instructions sorted at last! only colours to sort out now, would any one have the Humbrol colours for the upper surface camo? Coastal Command option, i don't fancy trying to mix Revell s concoction .

Re: BROMO'S HALIFAX Mk 1/11
Cheers for that Tom,i rather stupidly got the instructions from my Catalina and as that has a Coastal Command option thought they would be the right colours, H27 and H117 oh well have to buy some more paint.
Construction has started at last,so far so good.Only problem encountered has been the cockpit floor is warped and has made construction slightly awkward, nothing major just annoying.
Due to the the dire weather the bench has been moved back to the kitchen table with all the problems that brings,ie being in view doing something other than DIY.i can escape to the loft and be forgotten about till i appear for a fag break,no hiding in the kitchen
There is some nice detail on the fuselage half's plus a nice ip with raised detail,i have used the decal for it plenty of micro sol and its settled down nicely,
And this picture shows some of the bomb bay detail, and the outlet for the toilet
only joking the H2s dome sits over this, plus i think this was the position for the ventral gun position,so more Marks of Halifax in the pipeline perhaps???? i will not be having an open bomb bay this time round as to be honest its too ruddy confusing the instructions say nothing about cutting the top door sections out or how to mount them, mention is made in the SAMI article but nothing in detail.
And a major word of warning when building this,do not try a dry fit of internals and fuselage sides, those wing spares are a tight fit,a very very very tight fit.I thought i was going to snap the fuselage when trying to get it apart. The last Halifax i built was the Airfix one about 35 years ago, and fit and detail are much better without doubt but in a weird way i really miss the rivets .
