Re: BROMO'S HALIFAX Mk 1/11
Nice start, the cockpit look much more detailed than in my Matchbox version. I see you use the Revell Aqua Colour, as well. What colour did you use for the cockpit interior?

That IJN Green looks pretty good, must file that one away for my next RAF build to see how it goes...

Tamiya interior green (IJN) XF 71 take no notice of the colour of the lid(which looks like Sky) I picked the use of this up from a guy who built the 1/24th Mossie on Military Modelling.I use it everywhere that has to be cockpit/interior green.

Re: BROMO'S HALIFAX Mk 1/11
Fair bit of progress today, for me anyway.Interior completed, some very nice detail has been moulded by Revell and if you wanted to go to town super detailing, what's there is a good place to start.
This complete assembly then has to be fitted to one fuselage half, the double wing spar here makes this a doddle, aligning everything so all is needed is the odd tweak before fixing with liquid poly, and its starting to take shape and look like an aircraft.
With this step done the fuselage halves can be joined, this is normally a time to worry for me,but no problems at all and no gaps a swipe with the sanding stick when dry and the joint should be invisible, jolly good stuff Revell.
The next step is to build the undercarriage bays again no problems, perfect fit and some very nice detail.
These then fit into the lower wing half, the top half of the wing is fitted and finish, the inside of the top wing forms the roof of the undercarriage bay,the fit is that good there is no gap between the sides of the bay and the roof T" other side is done the same and the wings can be dry fitted to the fuselage, again no gaps at all.So far i am loving building this kit it is so far the best fitting kit i have built.
Thanks for looking.

Very nice Bromo. The cockpit and interior detail is fantastic.

This looks like a great kit Bromo and a great build so far, excellent interior detail and good fit of parts, little or no sanding! (I'm very jealous). I'm tempted to get hold of one of these myself.

Re: BROMO'S HALIFAX Mk 1/11
That's a bargain - how much would Hasegawa want for something like this? I read the in depth build in SAMI recently and I know there are some accuracy issues but, to be honest, I'm an OOB sort of guy myself and it looks like a Halifax so therefore it's good enough for me. The guy in SAMI did state that, despite the flaws, this is the best Halifax kit on the market and looking at his review and your build and pics I wouldn't argue with that assessment.

Re: BROMO'S HALIFAX Mk 1/11
Hasegawa would want about 60 quid im the same as you oob, no doubt the resin aftermarket will offer corrections, but i doubt those who view my models will not know this is to big or too small. And at the end of the day i should have a nice model of a Halifax. Here's hoping that Revell tackle the Stirling next

Yes, hopefully they will. A modern kit of the Stirling is long, long overdue. At the same price as the Halibag I'm sure it would sell well.

Revell Stirling?? Yeah, Baby!! But if it doesn't come with the tractor and bomb trolleys I'll still opt for the Airfix one...
