To be honest, Splash, the CMR kits are a league away from Anigrand and many others, in terms of quality.
I believe Anigrand does so well because it tends to hold a monopoly on certain subjects and exploits this to the max.
Besides...who else is likely to produce a 1/144 Westland Rotodyne?!?

Resin doesn't tend to offer the manufacturer the economies of scale available to those makers of IM kits and there tends to be an increase in the need for good QC, using a Mk.1 eyeball.

Back on topic, Barry's going to manage this kit rather well and I wager he won't use anything more complicated than the basic modelling skills most of us already possess...including yourself, Splash.

Regards,
Bruce
Whilst Anigrand seem to lack in this area, CMR, in my experience, do not.

Check the build between my CMR Shackleton and this Anigrand Jetstar. I know which one I'd rather play with.

Hey there Splash!

Right.....what he said...(and thanks for the vote of confidence Bruce). Resin is the new vacuform: Esoterica available for a price. Really, I don't think a JetStar is all that esoteric, it's just that, except for one very old and very basic vacuform, nobody else has ever done one. Vacuforms are easier to work with in many ways, but resin can give a crisper result if the manufacturer does a good job with his masters and casting. Anigrand certainly have faults (consistantly), but they are far from being the worst. There's Unicraft for example.

Shh! It's unlucky for a modeller to say their name!

"We were cruising at 4inches when we lost all power and barrel rolled into the mat....."

Looking really nice Barry, looks zoomy with those wing tanks. Are you going to do that box camo scheme or ??

Box art's the current plan Jim. JBOT Decals has some civilian schemes, but none of them really 'spoke' to me (except for the "Readers Digest" corporate aircraft which was a later version with different tanks and engines).

This is my plan for dealing with the dozen or so holes around the lip of each nacelle. A ring of 5 thou to line the opening, fill the holes with super glue and sand to shape, then remove the ring by cutting/sanding/filing.

Good plan, Barry.
I'd be tempted to remove the offending areas upto that scribed line and then to replace with plastic strip...not as a cylinder, but as a very, very shallow cone.
The strip would probably have to overlap a little at some point, but this could be hidden by that central knub.
