TimJ's 'normal' Lanc

Post by TimJ »

As there are already examples of Dambuster and Grand Slam Airfix Lancs being built I thought I'd build my B.III from the V-E Day set. I'll post sprue shots, etc. in the morning.

I haven't built anything this big for ages so I'm looking forward to it.

Welcome to the build, Tim...I think that the size aspect (while, of course, not everything!) has attracted a lot of people to this build...looking forward you seeing you kick off...

Being from the States I don't have the same affinity for the Lancaster most of you guys have but I do love seeing them build. Waiting with anticipation...

I've made a start by assembling the wings, outer engines, interior and tailplanes/fins.

It's all gone together well so far, now I need to get the turrets built and painted.

Good start Tim,the rear gun barrels are a bit fiddly to get lined up but apart from that they go together fairly well.

Sorry about the lack of progress but my Mum was taken into hospital o the 14th of Feb and sadly she passed away last Sunday so I haven't had much time for modelling.
