TimJ's 1/43 Citroen DS
For this Blitz I'll be building a Heller 1/43 Citroen DS. It looks a nice kit, only 26 pieces. The only problem I can see will be waiting for the bodyshell to dry.
Some preliminary pics;
The instructions are printed in colour.
I'm planning on building it on the 13th so just over a day to go.

Re: TimJ's 1/43 Citroen DS
And we're off!
After a bowl of Cheerios and a nice cuppa it was out with the Anthracite to paint the underside to give it an 'underseal' look. I've also assembled the wheels and painted the tyres.
I'll have to start on the bodyshell soon as the gloss paint wil probably take a while to dry.

For future reference on Blitzbau building, you could always use Matt paints and then use Klear, or some Humbrol Glosscote, to get the desired finish.

Re: TimJ's 1/43 Citroen DS
Thanks for the tip Bruce, I'll keep that in mind.
As I had to go out this morning there hasn't been as much progress as I would have liked. The bodyshell had some mould lines on the front wings so I gave them a rub down and went over the bonnet and bootlid shut lines with a scribing tool as they were a bit faint in parts.
Since then I've given it a few coats of primer so it should be ready for rubbing down shortly.
I've got plenty to be getting on with while it dries. Hopefully the wait for the next update won't be so long

I've made a start on the interior. The 'carpets' have been painted Hu62 and the seats are Hu118.
The instructions said to use semi gloss black for the floor but I decided to go for something lighter.

Re: TimJ's 1/43 Citroen DS
It is a nice kit. It's been sitting in the stash for years so I thought I'd use the Blitzbau to get it built.
After going out to visit my Mom this afternoon I popped into my LHS for a tin of silver paint as the tin I opened this morning was a bit gloopy. The new tin is a lot better and the wheels have been painted.
I'll need to get back to the bodyshell now as I should be able to work on the interior and underside while the shell is drying.

Re: TimJ's 1/43 Citroen DS
After giving the bodyshell a light sanding to smooth off the primer I've applied the first top coat. I decided to go with the colour scheme in the instructions so it will have a black roof and ivory bodywork.
Next on the agenda is detail painting on the underside and fitting the rear suspenion parts and wheels.

Looks a good choice of kit. Going well.

Nice Goddess Tim, what a cool car. Paint permitting, you should do this easily.

Re: TimJ's 1/43 Citroen DS
Thanks for the comments.
The front seats didn't have any backs to them so I added some from thin plastic card.
Meanwhile the floorpan/interior is really coming together. The floor has had another coat of paint, the wheels are on and the rear bumper has been fitted.
As flakmonkey said, paint permitting I should easily finish in time.
