A Tale of two guns

Alright, sorry for the delay. Had to run an errand with my oldest but I have just finished another round. Highlighted the bases a little and did a little detail painting. Static grass will finish them off.



The guns are basically done. Might throw a wash on them and might not (leaning towards might not).





Also did some work on the figures.




Also realized I didn't get the watch in the shots. Oh well. Will remember next time.

So, have 6 hours left and things are about done barring any unfortunate incidents (knock wood).

OK, calling this one done and with over an hour to spare.

OK, maybe not much better. Will try to get some decent shots in the sun tomorrow (if we have any sun). Besides, will need better pics for the review anyway.

Other than the pieces being a little fiddly I was quite happy with the kits. Still not sure what kind of plastic they are and both could use a little more clean up with a new blade but for what they are intended for (gaming) they come out quite nice.

They look pretty close the the photo's I saw, think I read that the carriage was based on the German gun design.

The early 45mm was not very effective and was redone after the initial invasion. This kit represents the early version based on the wire wheels (at least there is a wire design on the kit parts). They were only effective against the German light tanks or at very close range. The German 37mm was a little more successful at first as the Russian tanks were not as well armored. Course, it had no chance against a KV or T-34.

Morning Phil. Just got up (to a wonderful sunny morning) and logged on to see how you were getting on. Blow me if you haven't gone and finished!
That's what happens when you sleep the night away, I guess!
From what I can see the the photos, they look pretty good. The static grass makes a nice difference to the bases. I was worried they were going to look a bit plain but you've made a real difference to them. Will have to wait for some better pics before commenting on the guns and crew, though...
