Pauls blitzed Cobra

Post by IrishAir »

I'll be doing my very first blitzbau with the airfix 1/72 P-39 (I know  , god awful kit). I will start at 2 o'clock on Tuesday 16th, I'm going for the full 24 hour segment so I'm hoping that the kit won't need that much TLC.

Cheers,
Paul

And we're off!

The sprue pic,

Within the hour I got some of the internals done and other various small things on the sprues, I know I painted the internals RAF cockpit green but I had no US interior green.
The pilot and the prop are still being painted.

There will probably be an update around 5:30,

Cheers,
Paul

It's no good hiding the Lanc behind the (rather splendid) clock. We know it's there so you can't pull it out at the end and say "and while I was at it I built this while I was waiting for the paint on the 'Cobra to dry".
Good start - will check in later!

Almost OT,
Thanks for the comments guys :)

I got the fuselage assembled now, the car door style panes were pretty annoying as the holes were nearly flashed over. This kit is really showing it's age.

There'll be another update at around 7 o'clock.
I'm really enjoying this build so far.

Paul

I built the Airfix cobra earlier this year and despite its age and all the associated heartache that comes with these old kits I thoroughly enjoyed the build. It could be that because of its age I didn't have the high hopes I normally have with newer kits.
