Ians Blitzed Friedrich
Ians Blitzed Friedrich
This is the unsuspecting victim for this Blitz.
Date is set for Friday 19th August. H-Hour is 10:00 BST.
Jack is in hospital in Thursday to have his tonsils removed. Mrs. Ian is off on Friday to man the aid post, so I have been given leave to cut and sand and paint to my hearts' content. Harry may join me in this Blitz as we bought the Tamiya Tyrannosaurus Rex from Hobbycraft yesterday

Re: Ians Blitzed Friedrich
I think I'm still on for this today. I am recently back from 24 hours at the hospital with Jack. Tonsillectomy went OK but the recovery didn't, so instead of coming home last night he had to stay in and so I stayed with him. Not much sleep and tired as hell. Sounds like me at the end of a Blitz, not the start!!!!
Jack is in his own bed sleeping now and I will have to help Mrs. Ian with him through the day. So no guarantees about posting on time or even completing but I will do my best.
Harry hasn't woken up yet so I am unsure whether he will be Blitzing with me or not...
Hopefully see you all later.

Don't be silly, Bruce. Needed to spend time with Jack - who, after having had a sleep and more painkillers is feeling a lot better.
Last photo was from 11am. Just bits of the engine and some of the tub assembled.
I now have a lot of catching up to do......
Next update at 4pm.

Transparent parts have been 'Klear'ed.
Engine (as much as I am going to) and tub assembled and given a coat of paint. Wings assembly started.

Re: Ians Blitzed Friedrich
If you want to display the engine, it is a nice kit. If you don't then it's a pain as the engine cowlings don't fit over the engine. They need thinning out too much, so I've had to remove the engine completely!
Aside from that little problem, it's going swimmingly. The tub is complete and just needs the gunsight adding.
And the rest of it is pretty much together. I need to do a lot of work around the front end with the wet'n'dry but apart from that it seems to be going OK.
I really need to be getting more of a move on!!!!!

6pm
Aircraft together now. Filling done. Prop and spinner built. Still need to add gunsight. Need to crack on masking the canopy but in-laws arrived 30 mins ago. Can't appear too rude. Also had accident first time I dunked them in Klear (the canopy parts, not the in-laws) as they fell into my decal water. Have re-Kleared them but they don't look very good :(
Still, here we are
Might be a couple of hours before next update as I have in-laws to be nice to and tea to eat.

Re: Ians Blitzed Friedrich
So - 8pm and all is reasonably well.
In-laws gone. Tea eaten.
Masking done, canopy in place, didn't forget the gunsight.
Just need to seal the canopy with PVA then I can spray

Re: Ians Blitzed Friedrich
And she'd probably wear it as a cod-piece!
Anyway, enough jollity. It's 9pm and the model is built. Just needs painting and decaling.
I'm just waiting for glue to go off, then it's off out into the dark garden to spray.
I don't really know what to do. I am very tired after last night at the hospital but I know I need to get more done tonight.
Decisions decisions.....
