TimJ's Bank Holiday Blitz
As tomorrow is a Bank Holiday in the UK I thought I'd attempt another Blitz.
The kit of choice is a PM 1/72 Lippisch P.13a.
Here are the sprues and decals, which include swastikas.
As you can see there aren't a lot of parts so it should go together pretty quickly but I'll have to fit something inside the fuselage to prevent the see through look.
It'll be interesting to see it next to my Revell 1/48 version.

I've got quite a few Luft '46 kits so I've got plenty left for the GB.Brews wrote:Ah ... another that couldn't wait for the Luft '46 GB.
Time to make a start.
I'll be posting an update at around 10 o'clock.

Most of the pieces have been removed from the sprue and the seat back and control column have been added to the cockpit floor.
The main parts will need a little trimming to get a good fit. Next on the agenda though is to fit some plastic card inside to prevent the see through look.

A very bizarre looking plane, good luck with it

Re: TimJ's Bank Holiday Blitz
Using plastic strip and tube I've made the blanking pieces and fitted them inside the fuelage/wing.
The tube is slightly too wide to fit to the end of the intake which is a pity as it would have covered the seam on the inside. I could try and thin it down and see if I can get a better fit.

Re: TimJ's Bank Holiday Blitz
I tried reducing the diameter of the tube but in the end I decided to leave it and gave the interior a coat of semi gloss black.
After a bit of fettling I joined the wing/fuselage halves together.
I've also been removing the mould lines on the trolley. I'll have to go and peel some potatoes now ready for dinner.

I don't know about this. There are so many parts I'm not sure you can do this in the allotted time frame.
Of course I'm just kidding. I like that this kit will allow you some room to do some scratch building. I'll be in and out today as I'm off from work to babysit the twins. I'll be tracking this build with great interest.

It's not the number of parts that matters but how well they fit together.Dirkpitt289 wrote:I don't know about this. There are so many parts I'm not sure you can do this in the allotted time frame.
The interior has had a coat of paint, which didn't take long.
The fin has been assembled too.
I may have to fit a bulkhead behind the seat as there's nothing there at the moment (not that you'll be able to see much anyway).
I may have to get a smaller clock too.

Looking good so far, as i said earlier such a weird looking plane, cant imagine this thing flying if it ever did, looking forward to see it painted up

Re: TimJ's Bank Holiday Blitz
At your build rate, I almost missed this one. Real nice progress.

Re: TimJ's Bank Holiday Blitz
The build rate has slowed down somewhat due to the lunch break and a very poorly fitting canopy which meant that I've had to build up the sills and back of the cockpit opening.
I should have it painted and fitted before the next update. Still plenty of time left.

Smaller than the clock though.
Things are progressing slowly but the airframe is together at last and filling and sanding is underway. The first round has been done but I needed to add some more in places.
On the plus side the trolley is finished.
Nearly time for tea, probably just a cheese sandwich, maybe toasted.
