Having sanded down the remaining filler I've taken it to my spraybooth (the garden) and given it a few coats of Halfords white primer.

Image

Sorry about the lack of clock but I forgot.

Time for tea now and then I can get on with the painting.

That's 'white primer' on a typically dull August Bank Holiday! ;-)

Looks good. It seems to have sanded down pretty well. The finish line is just over the horizon with this one.

I've started on the paintwork using Aeromaster acrylics. The underside and fin have had a couple of coats of RLM76 and the upper surfaces a coat of RLM81.

Image

The RLM81 will need another coat before I apply the RLM82.

The camouflage has been completed and a bit of mottling applied to the sides.

I need to touch up the cockpit interior and fit the canopy then it'll be Klear and decals.

Although the green paint is still slightly tacky I've started to put the decals on, starting with the undersides. Being a PM kit I was worried about the quality but they are nice and glossy and so far I've had no problems with them.

Image

If I need to I can always get up early tomorrow to finish it .

I've got all the decals on so all it needs now is a coat of matt varnish which I'll put on tomorrow morning before I go to work. It'll still be within the 24 hour time period. This is how it stands at the moment.

I'll take some pics for the Gallery tomorrow.

I could have sworn I posted this this morning but it looks like I prewiewed it but didn't click on submit.

I gave the Lippisch a coat of matt varnish before I went to work this morning to finish it off.

Image

Considering the low parts count it took a lot longer than I expected, mostly due to faffing about trying to get the canopy to fit properly. It turned out OK though and I'm looking forward to the Luft '46 GB even more than I was before.

Nice one, Tim. Sorry for not cheering on from the sidelines. I was in a cold, windy and wet field in Norfolk doing some mad pastime called 'camping'.
Nice model. Not seen one of these built up before. Good job!
