Agreed Jeff...I ended up motivated to do a tad more than originally planned.

Thank you much for the kind words. But I only wore my "tennies" and not my jackboots here.

Hi Jeff
Thanks for running a great GB, I have really enjoyed it, you picked a subject very close to my heart.
Because my mojo was flowing and it was subjects I personally knew about, it made it easy for me to finish all the kits I started, the motivation from you and all the others, pushed me on much further than I had planned.
Considering I started the year in January as a fresh born again modeler, who set him self a target of twelve kits in twelve months, I’m chuffed to have completed six in one and a half months.
The only problem I now have, is the bug to build more RN Wessex & Whirlwinds, I have now emptied my stash of RN Helicopters so I’m going to have to re-stock and start building again.
The other problem is, after seeing all the other excellent builds on this GB, I now want to build them all as well.
Thanks again for all your hard work running the GB.
Regards

The great things about this and the previous Helo GB is the variety which, though runs somewhat contrary the remit of GBs, is the reason why these are so successful. There is something about helos that no two look a like and I think this is what people have found inspiring.
Also the lack of of wing roots to fill is a boon!

I think this GB has been a great success, The ammount of completions proves this . I don't participate in that many and to get 2 kits done with a week or so to go felt good. just hope i can keep the juices flowing , im sure SMW will give it a midterm boost.
Re: Whirli-Bird sign-up and chat
Just did a final scan of the threads looking for last minute additions. Seeing none I now pronounce this group buld completed.
I would like to point out that there were 30 models started by 20 builders. 20 models were completed. This surpasses the original sign up by a good margin.
As James has stated, there was a wide selection of subjects. But model companies have provided us modelers with a large selection to choose from. And while there is no wing roots to fill, there is a lot of glass to mask.
The venerable Huey was included has it should be. Yet no Sea Kings appeared except for one started by Gregers.
So, for the record, we have had several complete multiple builds. Splash with 6, Merlin with 3 and Shangos70 (Shane) with 2. Remarkable considering how real life can kick in at a moments notice. Well done to all.
So in closing, thank you one and all for participating. It was an easy GB to moderate. Most of all it was fun, interesting and provide much fodder for another build of something rotary-winged.
I will leave the topic open if anyone has a last minute comment before I lock it up.
To any who were unable to complete their builds within the guidelines on the build, please consider finishing them up so we can see how you did.
Cheers everyone and thank you.
