I think it has worked, by the time I have added an oil wash it might be close to the effect I was after.

Oil wash just added, the wash should lighten up when it dries.

I have had a good day today, I have painted all the blades, sorted out the cockpit and fitted the undercarriage.

That distemper effect does look rather splendid!

Thanks Brews & Bruce, I’m please how the distemper turned out, I can see me using the hair spray technique again, I have a ½ finished 1/72 Matchbox Flower Class Corvette that I could use it on.

I thought I would have a go at making an intake cover using the tin foil you find in a tub of butter spread.

I pressed it against the intake to get the shape, cut it out and then stuck it in place, added straps and painted it green, all it needs now is some dry brushing to bring out the detail.

Good idea to use the foil for the intake cover.

As far as the GB goes I’m calling this one finished. I plan to make a blade fold cradle and fold the blades, but I have not yet had a chance to visit the Fleet Air Arm Museum at Yeovilton to take photos of the cradle.

Whilst taking the photos I must have broken the tail wheel so that will need fixing as well.

I will fix the broken parts and take better photos for the gallery before the GB ends.

Another lovely piece, Splash.
Whilst that 'distemper' looks spot on, the exhausts look very realistic as well.

Ace!
