Of all the DSV kits, this is the one most readily available.

I actually found this one at a show least fall. The vendor threw it at me for $5USD. It was just to weird to pass up.

I have been painting the individual sections today. Yellow propellant tanks, black frame and dark metalizer cargo cage. Will post photos ASAP

Some prelim painting completed.

This is a kit that if the painting is done correctly can really make a difference. But, all models are like that. There are a lot of black warning stripes on this kit and I think decal material may provide a solution.

Todays update. Still have a lot of yellow and black striping to do.

Image

After the modification of uses screen stock for the cargo bay, there has developed a problem of securely attaching the frame to the bay. It has broken twice now and so I am up for suggestions.

I may have to create some hard to see framing to rest it on. Or maybe epoxy glue.

I keep thinkin' Louisana Reckneck Shrimper when I look at it.

Hi Jeff,
I'm thinking that the real thing might be secured by large bolts, with nuts and big washers, running through points in the mesh?
You could recreate this with rod and plasticard, or slightly larger diameter tubing.

Something that struck me early on the series, regarding this subject, was that it looked very credible, so your Shrimper observation is shared.

Sometimes the solution to the problem is to easy to detect. Merlin's post triggered an idea. I anchored the cargo bay to the frame with micro gauge beading wire. It is like a lead alloy of some type and is very flexible. At any rate, I used it in very descrete locations and it blended in very well with the mesh. Problem solved. Thank's Merlin.

State of play:

Tomorrow will include adding a little more yellow and than the black caution stripes to finish things up. I even have a cargo for the bay. But you will have to wait for it.

Great work Jeff, this one looks so plausible.. I'm guessing you have a mermaid cheerleading squad lined up for the back.. Go DSV :)

Cheers
