And Guys, yes the NSW South Coast weather is very poor at the moment, combined with a long weekend = time to build model aeroplanes :)

Would you like some photos of the Southern Cross Bruce?

This one is Australian (but you might not think so)...

Image

Its a Kittyhawk from No 3 Squadron RAAF and it fought in the Western Desert. No 3 Squadron RAAF is distinctly different than No 3 Squadron RAF.

Good to have you, Stefano!

And as for me, weary of filling and sanding the Boston III, I'm going to start an Airfix P-51D / K and finish it as a 3 Sqn RAAF Mk IV in Italy, 1945. RAF roundels, I'm afraid, but the rudder is in a cool pale blue colour and it does have a representation of the stars of the Southern Cross on it!

Sorry for bailing on this one chaps - life and all that. A big thank you to Bruce for steppng up to take over - I appreciate it!

My build went in the bin weeks ago - there was no reasonable way to overcome the warped wings.

We're the only late finishers, Dai and Martin. Are we on track?

That depends which track you mean . . .

I scribed the top side of the elevators at work today and I don't think any further filling is required ('course I knocked the nosegear leg off, didn't I  ).

Assuming the dearest doesn't want me to decorate I may get a few coats of light blue on t'Boston tonight, with perhaps some brown on tomorrow. I think that's as far as I'll get.

regards,

Martin

Hey Bruce, if you're in the mood for doing some general household chores, I'll gladly put you in touch. :ha:

Well done, chaps! Some lovely models there, and I can only apologize again for 1. Not being able to keep up as GBL, and 2. Not finishing a model....
