Well, strictly speaking, the RAAF only had one Hurri, and it never wore its RAAF serial. Remember, it has to be Aussie markings....

I'm tempted to join in with a RAN Sea Fury but I could do with finishing at least one of my whirlis first.

Here's a link - the sheet has markings for the only RAAF Hurricane at three points in its career.

Some quick research shows that 450 and 451 Sqns RAF had them for a short time in N Africa, before transitioning to more effective types - the Kittyhawk and Spitfire. Is that what you are thinking, Bruce?

I think we need to remember than this GB is for Australian-MARKED aircraft - particularly those AX-XXX and VH-XXX aircraft, rather than aircraft flown by Australians.

In that regard, only one Hurricane ever received Australian markings and while it wasn't serialled as an AX-XXX, I'm willing to make that exception.

Not to mention the Lancasters of 460,463 and 467 Squadrons noted in ADF serials as being under RAF control.

Clearly it dependson whether your definition of Australian markings includes RAF aircraft. I was taking a stricter line - prefering aircraft with VH-XXX or AX-XXX serials, but if you, Bruce or Dai, are willing to build one of those aircraft, I'll say to go for it. :)

OK, how about "any Australian-marked aircraft, plus those operated by designated RAAF squadrons serving with the RAF in WWII, and AFC aircraft serving with the RFC in WWI, and up until the formation of the RAAF in 1921."?

Clearly, Bruce. Tell you what - why don't you come up with the definition of what is and isn't appropriate and I'll go along with it. :)

While I think that "Aircraft in Australian Service" is a good catch all I would be a bit disapointed to see a heap of aircraft in RAF markings and serials.
