I agree, which is why the original intent, so stated in that thread and repeated in the first post in this thread, was "in Australian markings".

As this conversation has started to distract and potentially diminish the intent of this GB, as this GB's Moderator, I have decided on the following parameters:

Any aircraft operated by RAAF, RAN and Australian Army aviation units, including the 450- and 460-range of squadrons, and any Australian-registered civilian aircraft, are eligible for this GB. If you have any questions about eligibility of your chosen subject, please contact me by PM for clarification.

Now, gentlemen, please go ahead and set up your build threads ready for the start on Saturday. If anyone else wishes to join in, just pipe up here, then set up your thread. Don't forget to vote for your choice of what I'll be building - it's still very close!

Above all, have fun!

The Frog Sea Venom is a nice little kit - I have one of the Premiere ones with very nice RAN decals.

I'll be about a week late starting as we are off to Cooma for a week or so.

Bruce. Bring your winter woolies with you and check the the met. It's somewhat cold and windy at the moment. :-(

And Guys, yes the NSW South Coast weather is very poor at the moment, combined with a long weekend = time to build model aeroplanes :)

This one is Australian (but you might not think so)...

Image

Its a Kittyhawk from No 3 Squadron RAAF and it fought in the Western Desert. No 3 Squadron RAAF is distinctly different than No 3 Squadron RAF.

Good to have you, Stefano!

And as for me, weary of filling and sanding the Boston III, I'm going to start an Airfix P-51D / K and finish it as a 3 Sqn RAAF Mk IV in Italy, 1945. RAF roundels, I'm afraid, but the rudder is in a cool pale blue colour and it does have a representation of the stars of the Southern Cross on it!
