Finished the spraying last night (at 1.00 am as I couldn't sleep  ). I tried the blue tack and tape method for a change:

My reference pictures of current flying planes shows the paintwork to be quite glossy. Is this correct for RAAF planes, or would a matt finish be better suited?

Boomer has been unmasked

Image

I am pleased with the paintwork, though I found that blue tack and tape took too long to de-mask.

I was not too happy with how the rear glass panels sat, so decided to have the cockpit open. Whilst trying to saw through the glazing I managed to split the rear piece. This has now been repaired and should hopefuly fit once fully cured.

Finished this today.

First attempt at weathering using pastel chalks. Seems to have come out OK.

I will take some better pictures for the Gallery in daylight.

I have really enoyed this build. It went together quite cleanly with only a minimum of filler needed.

My Airbrush technique has imroved quite a bit, and I am pleased with the overall finish.

Very Happy Chappy :-D

The Temora Boomerang is gloss as it is less prone to fading and being "slippery" uses less fuel. If you look closely at the photo I placed in the info section you will see a small logo on the u/c. Ignore it it's a BP logo.

I agree with the previous posters; nice finish!

A question though re the Aqua color paints; what shades did you use for the upper camouflage?

Thanks for the comments guys.

Brews, nice idea, they do look too clean.

Martin, I used 65 Bronze Green and 82 Dark Earth which were left over from the Revell Lancaster that I built a while ago.
