Re: Kruaxi's Brewster Buffalo
The work you've done on this has been great Krauxi, but it's such a silly little plane. This build is tempting me to want to start mine.

It's making me want to propose a Buffalo group build. I must be losing it.Dirkpitt289 wrote:The work you've done on this has been great Krauxi, but it's such a silly little plane. This build is tempting me to want to start mine.

Re: Kruaxi's Brewster Buffalo
That is tempting OT. I'd like to do it just to see how you'd figure out how to build a Spitfire as your subject.

Re: Kruaxi's Brewster Buffalo
There would be no need as the Buff is my second favorite WW2 fighter. I think it also holds the highest kill ratio of any allied fighter (except of course most kills are by the Finns fighting the Soviets!)Dirkpitt289 wrote:That is tempting OT. I recently read 'Buffalos over Singapore' By Brian Cull. It was a bit harrowing, young inexperianced pilots totally outclassed and outnumbered by the Japs. On the one occasion when they had some early warning and gained some height they hit the enemy hard, even turning back the bombers but it was too little too late.
It took balls to fly this tubby little fighter - its still better looking than a Mustang.

I'm not sure to understand; do you mean it was the most outclassed allied fighter ?Old_Tonto wrote: I think it also holds the highest kill ratio of any allied fighter

I think he means, that this aircraft held the highest ratio of number of enemy aircraft shot down to number of aircraft lost.
Frankly I'm finding this to be quite an unbelievable claim, even when considering the Finn's record.

What an excellent job. I'm really impressed with the engine detail.
