Thanks for all the comments.
The wings are now on and the body rubbed down, just a few blemished to sort out before I add the nose and think about painting.

Looking great! The weathering in the cockpit really sets off the work you've done there.

And those drilled out flaps really look the part.

That is coming along nicely. I particularly like the idea of offsetting the ailerons, adds another dimension to it.

There aren't "many Legos", there is "some Lego". Don't they teach you folks proper English?

On the other flipper, 'do not they teach you folks proper English?' !?! Hmmmmmm.
Confusing, it is...much troubled, am I.

It's just one of those American usages that always snag on my eye. That, and referring to bands as a single entity ("The Beatles was a successful band from Liverpool"). I don't know why those two things in particular make my eye twitch, but they do.

Re: Splash's Airfix 1/72 Dauntless
I have given it a blow over with light grey primmer and I’m happy with the results.
The problem is, I took a look at the transparencies and thought Ahrrrrrrrrrr they are horrid, they fit were they touch and they don’t touch much, the pilots canopy is to small to fit over the rear middle canopy and the rear canopy is to big to fit under the middle canopy.
My wife is off to London on Sunday, so I will have time to work on it, I think I will have to make a new canopy using the old canopy as a mould, the problem is, if I mess up I will have to source a vac canopy and will not be able to finish on time.
The other option is to just use the canopy as it is, in the closed position and loose all the work I have put into it, which is the option I really don’t wan’t to do.

That sounds like a good idea.Brews wrote:Here's what I'd do, in your situation:
Finish it with canopy closed, fixing the canopy in place with white glue. At your leisure, it will be no trouble to take the canopy off and deal with it however much you like - at least you'll have glamour shots for the GB.
Trial fit
Now white glued in and a coat of grey
Should be ok to finish on time.
