User Name: Splash
First Name: Alan

With only sixteen parts this should be a simple quick build.
I plan to start this kit in a day or two.

Re: Splash`s Horten Ho-229
This is defiantly not one of PM’s more detailed kits, it is a very, very, very basic model with lots of flash and little in the way of detail.
But at under £3 who can complain? (not me)
After using only five parts, I’m now at this stage, waiting for the glue to set before attacking it with filler. I was planning to build it as a straight out of the box kit, but I think I will have to sort out the two exhausts as they are just holes, a bit of tubing or rolled up thin card should do the job.

I could just paint it black and call it the Batplane

I'm currently waiting for the filler on the nose to set before having a sanding session.
I have looked at several colour schemes and have decided to paint the aircraft allover silver with one wing tip being in red with a white circle and black swastika.
regards

Where did you come up with the different paint schemes? When I was contemplating doing mine I had a hard time finding good paint schemessplash wrote:I'm currently waiting for the filler on the nose to set before having a sanding session.

Re: Splash`s Horten Ho-229
This kit is very basic and quite crude, I had planned to just build it straight out of the box, but as you can see from the photos the exhaust area looks nothing like a jet pipe so I made a tube from plastic card and slotted it in, this still needs to be tidied up once the glue sets.
The intakes needed thinning down and I scribed a few panel lines and removed the remaining surface detail, having only spent a couple of hours on the kit I’m happy with the way it’s turning out, as the canopy is thick and not very clear I’m not going to spend any time on the cockpit.

I have just given it a coat of white followed by silver, next I will have to make a circle and swastika mask and spray the outer wing red. For a very basic kit it's not turning out to bad.

Seconded. Looks very nice in the silver. More like a Luftwaffe '36 with a twist.
