Restored Boeing B-29 Superfortress
Venerable 'Revell' 144th scale Boeing B-29 Superfortress, given the spurious name 'Old 69' because I paid sixty nine cents for it in a local thrift store to keep it out of the local landfill. It was in deplorable shape, and I questioned my sanity for having purchased it. Two heavy coats of Easy Off to burn off a thick layer of what appeared to be House latex, and then knocking it down by dismembering it for intense restoration. I missed a few details here and there as I was keen to get it finished. It had languished on my workbench for far too long on account of an unnaturally long and (for coastal BC weather anyway) cold temperatures that prevented me from spraypainting it. Prop blurs, antennas, machine gun barrels and teardrop radio antenna made from scratch. Decals from spares.

Nice salvage!
Best wishes

Re: Restored Boeing B-29 Superfortress
Thanks Iggie. Honestly, I could have sworn off of buying new kits and still have more than enough of these rescues and unbuilt second hand ones to keep me occupied for a lifetime. There's something about restoring a wreck though that sometimes trumps building OOB a lot of the time.

I like your creativity, that prop blur looks nice!
I already rescued some wrecks, too, can be lots of fun.

Waiting for the day, when wars for territory will be something to be read about in history books only.

Nicely done. I see it's heading for a low-ceiling cloud base.

Thanks guys, and yes James it is. I am running out of room on my ceiling trying to find room for my finished machines.

Oh no, I can't hold a candle to that guy. Takes me so long to build stuff sometimes I will just hold him up ha ha ha!

Great stuff, looks good hanging there. I've got a B-29 on the ceiling too - best place for them.
