Trumpeter RA-5C Vigilante 1/72 FINISHED

Post by Navy one »

Hi all, At this moment I am building the Vigilante by Trumpeter.
I find the fit great and the details excellent.
I just finished the cockpit and now I am trying to scratch build the air intakes.
That is the only dissapointment of this kit, that there are no intakes and fans you can see from the front thru those big intakes.
I found a set online from a russian maker for this kit with the intakes and fans but no seller, including the manufacturer had it in stock.
So scratch build it is, I will post updates as I progresse through this kit.
Happy Building,Paul.

Super looking office Paul.
Do keep the images coming as I think the Vigilante is one of the best looking aircraft ever designed.

Excellent looking cockpit and a nice bit of work detailing those intakes.

Very nice so fr. Fan of the Vigilante myself. Are the wings as narrow as they look in the pics, always thought they were bigger.
Hoping to return to modelling sometime this year!!

The flaps have to go on, so the wings are wider when finished.
Well spotted.

Ah that explains it  . No criticism meant, they just looked too thin. Probably I should look closer as I thought they were done, so not too well spotted!!

That is a really great looking paint job, Paul. What have you used to make the panel lines pop out like that? a home concocted wash or one of those proprietary panel line washes that every paint manufacturer seems to offer these days?
