Airfix Bristol Blenheim MkIV Bomber 1:72 A04061
Based on the 2014 New Tool Mk.I, this is the (late) 2017 release of the Mk.IV
Paints are Revell Aqua (topside) and AK Interactive (underside), gloss varnish, decals, Flory Brown wash, then the usual W&N matt varnish to finish. In a first for me, I used the primary scheme of a North Africa based Free French aircraft.

Best wishes

If you can walk away from a landing, it's a good landing. If you use the airplane the next day, it's an outstanding landing

Good job.
All models are equal. Some models are more equal than others.

That is a really great build of this new tool, Jim, the cam colours and those Free French markings look excellent and remind me very much of the box art of the old tool version.

One question - what is the correct colour of the Cross of Loraine?

Thanks all for the comments; the kit goes together really well on the whole and I didn't spend the time I should to get the best from it
The kit decals include both red and black crosses, but no explanation as to why! I went with red purely for aesthetic reasonsEric Mc wrote:Very nice.

Re: Airfix Bristol Blenheim MkIV Bomber 1:72 A04061
The original 1960s Airfix Blenheim came with a red cross. Since then, it has been argued that the cross should have been dark blue. I think Adam Tooby's artwork for the new kit shows it with the blue cross. Airfix are obviously hedging their bets by including a choice.

Well done, Jim,
it helps to banish thoughts of the old-tool kit, which even in the day, I found less than satisfying.
Cheers,
David
