Airfix 1/72 A-7E ( hey look it's a finish!)

Post by Stuart »

Hey Guys,

Just thought I'd share a build I finished up a few weeks ago - Airfix's A-7E Corsair II.

Not my best build I have to say, I kind of rushed the finish as I just wanted it off the bench - but considering my wife dropped a bag of flour on it and broke all the gear I suppose it's not too bad.

Cheers!

Stuart.

Very nice! I have no idea why as I've never seen one fly in the flesh, but I've always liked the Corsair and this looks the part totally
Best wishes

Bag of flour or a practice bomb? Looks pretty good to me even with the inadvertent extra weathering!

That is a novel approach to discouraging your modeling. I'm glad my wife doesn't read these threads.

Anyway, it buffed up very nicely!

Great job. I have to say that I've always been a fan of the propeller driven Corsair but I'm embarrassed to say that I didn't know there was a Corsair 11

Nice one Stuart, this kit is one of the very first that I ever built back in the early 70's. I love that classic gull grey over white scheme with hi-viz markings for USN jets. Great stuff and well repaired after the flour bombing!

Thanks all for the kind words - I don't recommend flour as a weathering medium - especially when delivered by the pound!
