Reach for the Sky - movie star Spitfire

I built this Heller Spitfire Mk.XVI using some of the methods I've seen lancfan employ on his models - this entailed reprofiling the engine cowlings and radiator fairings. I also fitted some spare exhaust stubs which came from another Spitfire kit - no idea which one!











The kit didn't have any decals, so I dug some out of the spares box and made it into an aircraft which appears in the 1956 film Reach for the Sky.



I did worry that I had burdened the front end with a lot of filler, thus making the model too heavy for the notoriously weak landing gear, but so far it's still standing!
