My latest movie build has been going a bit slowly - partly because I've been trying to make a decent job of it, and partly because I've had to repair several other models due to an inconsiderate housemate!

However, the Spitfire II is nearly done - decals are next up.

The Waldo Pepper Fokker Dr.1 is next - see the build thread in the Fokker Triplane GB.

I've just found another model I need to do for the collection - a Pfalz D.III from the film Von Richthofen and Brown.

In fact, there's also a Fokker D.VII from that film, too....!

Not a great image, admittedly, so I'll get some others later....

This aircraft is the one seen in several films - First of the Few, Sink The Bismarck! and Reach for the Sky, and probably a few others.

Do you use flash on your phone when you photograph your models? If so, have a try without flash; it might even out the lighting and stop the glare on parts of the model.

As an aside, do you think you'll ever run out of movie subjects to build? :-D :-D
Best wishes

I don't normally use a phone for my model shots - my usual camera wasn't to hand, and it is much better for this kind of work!

Just off the top of my head, I still have models from all of these films to build.....

Memphis Belle - B-17 and P-51D
Hell's Angels - SE.5a and Fokker D.VII
Flyboys - Nieuport 11 and Fokker Dr.1
Tora! Tora! Tora! - P-40, and maybe a B-17!
The Dam Busters - Lancaster
The Dawn Patrol - Nieuport 28
The Blue Max - Pfalz D.III, Fokker D.VII, Stampe SV.4, SE.5a, Tiger Moth
First Light - Spitfire XVI
Dark Blue World - Buchon
Reach for the Sky - Hurricane

Also, with the rumour that Sir Ridley Scott is making a new Battle of Britain film soon, there might be some more to do yet!

Another good looking movie star Spit, Daren. I've seen The Blue Max a number of times and also have a well thumbed copy of Jack D. Hunter's classic novel upon which the film was based. I thought you'd already done a Stampe conversion from that film, or am I confusing you with someone else? :???:
Doing - Tamiya 1/35th Universal Carrier.

I did a Stampe conversion from Aces High a while back. That's maybe what you are thinking of.

Did you do planes from "Empire of the Sun", or - those mock-up Messerschmitts in Indiana Jones and the Holy Grail :-D -
- I mean Indy and the last Crusade?
Or a Mosquito from The Purple Plain?

Empire of the Sun is on the to-do list (Mustang and Zero conversion).

I've not managed to find a Pilatus P-2 for Last Crusade.... yet!

Never thought about The Purple Plain, though!

You´ll never run out of subjects to do, no doubt ;-)

So my next two subjects are on a familiar thread - a Spitfire XVI and a Hispano Buchon.

The Spitfire appears in the film First Light, as the aircraft flown by Geoff Wellum early on in the film. The Buchon is one that had previously appeared in the films Battle of Britain, Memphis Belle and Piece of Cake. Its last film appearance was in The Tuskegee Airmen, where it battled with P-51D Mustangs being flown by the pilots of the 332nd Fighter Group.

I'm having a semi-pause from doing movie models at the moment, but for a quick mojo-builder, I decided to throw one of my favourite kits onto the desk and make a new Malta Story Spit to replace one that was rather badly knackered by my previous inconsiderate housemate....
