So, as some have already gathered, I build lots of models of aircraft that have been used/seen in films or TV shows.

Here is a taste of them....

Airfix 1/72 Spitfire IX - Battle of Britain

Image
Special Hobby 1/72 Hispano HA1112M-1L "Buchon" - Battle of Britain

Image
Classic Planes 1/72 Hispano HA1112M-4L "Buchon" - Battle of Britain

Image
Airfix 1/72 Hurricane Mk.I - Battle of Britain

Image
Heller 1/72 Spitfire XVI - Reach for the Sky

Revell 1/72 SE.5a and Fokker D.VII - Von Richthofen and Brown

Airfix 1/72 Spitfire Mk.I - Dunkirk

Special Hobby 1/72 Hispano HA1112M-1L "Buchon" - Dunkirk

Image
Airfix 1/72 P-51D Mustang - The Tuskegee Airmen

Image
Matchbox 1/72 Spitfire IX - Dark Blue World

Image
Hobby Boss 1/72 AT-6 Texan - God Is My Co-Pilot

Image
Airfix 1/72 AT-6 Texan/Zero replica - Tora! Tora! Tora!

Image
Hobby Boss 1/72 A6M5 Zero - Pearl Harbor

Image
Heller 1/72 Spitfire XVI - Malta Story

Image
Azur 1/72 Stampe SV.4c/SE.5a replica - Aces High

Obviously this isn't the complete collection - there are quite a few more, but these are my favourite ones.

However, the collection is soon to grow, as I have A LOT of aviation-themed war films! These are the ones I have planned for the foreseeable future:

P-40E - Tora! Tora! Tora!
P-40N - Pearl Harbor
B-25D - Thirty Seconds Over Tokyo
A6M2 Zero - The Eternal Zero
A6M2 Zero - Zero Pilot
Spitfire Mk.I - A Yank in the RAF
Spitfire Mk.XVI - First Light
P-51D Mustang - Empire of the Sun
P-51D Mustang - Memphis Belle
Hurricane Mk.I - Angels One-Five

So, yeah.

Interesting idea.

Gives you a chance to put some inappopriate colour schemes on these aeroplanes.

A great idea for a collection of models Daren that is different from the norm, featuring aircraft that actually flew (as opposed to purely CGI representations), including some ingenious conversions and one that you obviously have a great deal of enthusiasm for. Excellent work with them 8-)

It's interesting that Hasegawa brought out a couple of kits in the markings of the Zeros from the film The Eternal Zero. I wish more companies would occasionally bring out special decals like that!

Nice work on a great theme.

Have you seen the original Captain America film they used a polished aluminium Beech C-45 Expeditor, to drop off Captain America over Germany.

PM did a cheap C-45 that would fit the bill.

A quick check shows it was a stark industries beech 18 so it ties in with Iron Man and Captain America.

I've always liked the C-45, so might have a look!

I'd grab a PM C45 if and when you see it if you want to do the Stark one. PM have stopped trading after the death of the proprietor, rumor is the molds have been destroyed though I have yet to get proof of that.

All the best.

Daz, "...do we have a 'movie' problem?...'. :) Seriously though, I like the theme and discipline needed to execute the whole line of these kits.

I have quite a big collection of war movies, most of which have some kind of aerial content in them. The maddening thing is that I keep finding more models to do! Such as:

Lancaster B.VII - The Dam Busters
A6M2 Zero - The Eternal Zero
Spitfire Mk.I - A Yank in the RAF
B-17G - Memphis Belle
P-51D Mustang - Memphis Belle
Hispano Buchon - Memphis Belle
P-51D Mustang - Empire of the Sun

So, yeah, the list goes on....!

Wot, no VF-84 F-14A from The Final Countdown? With, of course, another CAF Texan/Zero for it to shoot at. 8-)

I do have an F-14A in the stash, but it's going in the markings of some little-known movie from the 1980s.

Top something or other.... ;-)
