Cheers, folks.

O_T - I've got the Spitfire VIII done from Dark Blue World, but I feel the Mk.VB should be in there, too, especially as it's really the main star! I'm tempted to do a Buchon as well, possibly the one that attacks Karel (the beautifully-rendered CGI version which attacks him on the first mission).

There are STILL others joining the queue - including yet another Spitfire/Buchon combo!

On the subject of Buchons, I've long pondered over doing one of these....
Image
In the famous "Repeat, please!" sequence, involving a group of Polish pilots on a training sortie, the film's three Hurricane stars are backed up by a flight of RAF-painted Buchons masquerading as Hurricanes! Thankfully, you only really see them in the background, so the game isn't given away too easily.

The Special Hobby Buchon kit had a set of these "Hurrischmitt" decals, in addition to the Luftwaffe markings, so doing it wouldn't be a hard job.

Decisions, decisions....

Well I never knew that, Daren and I'll pay more attention next time I watch the film! Adding a Buchon Hurrischmitt to your film star collection would be very worthwhile if you ask me.
Doing - Tamiya 1/35th Universal Carrier.

Another two off the list - my two Hasegawa A6M2 Zeros from the book/film The Eternal Zero.

You won't need to wait long! :-D

I'm torn between using a legitimate Buchon kit (of which I have three) or a conversion. Either way, I think it has to be done!

Some recent purchases for the movie collection:

The Hurricane and Messerschmitt are both likely destined for the Battle of Britain collection (the '109 will get a nose job to make it into a Buchon, while the Hurricane will have its guns removed to make it into a pseudo-Mk.I).

The Mustang is for a Memphis Belle aircraft, while the Camel is the subject for the current GB, and will be from the film The Great Waldo Pepper.

An interesting set of projects Daren, that's for sure. I love the '109F in that classic Frog packaging!

If I remember rightly, the '109 is a nice wee kit to build.

I'm debating which model to do for the bomber GB, as I have three I could use (and all eligible for film star treatment) - a CASA 2.111 (Spanish-built Heinkel 111), a Dambuster Lancaster, or a B-25.

So, work started on two more movie projects - the Camel and, yes, another Spitfire!

The Spit kit is this one:

The Spitfire build has come about due to an unfortunate incident in France this afternoon, involving a Spitfire Pr.XIX. My model will be one of the three Spit XIXs used in Battle of Britain.

Using as many Battle of Britain film photos as I could get my grubby little mitts on, I've been trying to give this one the most accurate paint scheme as I can manage:

Image

I reckon this is pretty damn close to the real ones from the film. Just needs a second coat of green and a few touch-ups here and there. The intention is to model the Spit on the BBMF Pr.XIX PS853, as she appeared in the film (although she will likely end up as one of the Rabbit Squadron aircraft).
