Ooh, now that would be interesting!

I do have a shot somewhere in one of the books of a Spitfire that did appear in the film.

Also, I have a sneaking suspicion that surviving Spitfire R6915 is one of the Spits in the aerial sequences!

And, finally, my home-grown Hispano Buchon!

This one originally started off as a Frog Messerschmitt 109F which, after a few years, was starting to look tired. I had been trying to figure out how to create a Buchon from a normal '109 kit for a while, and used this one as a prototype - but also because I already have a stand-mounted Frog Spitfire XIV in the Battle of Britain collection, and this one was originally stand-mounted as well. So far, work has involved popping off the propeller and supercharge intake, sanding off the low-mounted exhaust stubs, clipping the wingtips, and building up the distinctive lower cowling profile using a BUTTLOAD of filler! I also made the rocker cover fairings using some scrap plastic, and have been sanding and shaping them as best I can.

Have you ever seen 'The Great Santini' Daz?

An F-4 might make an interesting change from Spitfires.

I've not seen that one.

However, I do have an F-14A and an F-5 to do from Top Gun! ;-)

I don't think I've ever seen a '109F converted into a Buchon before Daren, that is great work and mounting it on the dogfight doubles stand with the Spit looks very promising!

Well, the home-made Frog Buchon is now finished and mounted on its stand, along with its Frog Spitfire XIV counterpart....

The Buchon is a bit rough in spots, but it was good practice for if I do decide to convert another one!

Both look good, and nicely arranged on the stand too!
Best wishes

Cheers, iggie!

I might actually have a bash at doing the same thing to the Airfix '109G at some point.

Have you seen "The Great Waldo Pepper"?

There's a rather nicely battered 'Jenny' in the film.

I have.

There's also a rather natty black and yellow Fokker Dr.1 in it, too...

Yeah, knew there were other aircraft in the film (wasn't 100 about the Fokker being a Dr1 or a DVII though), but the Jenny stands out, especially the scene where he lands on the Army Air Corps Station whilst they're having an inspection.

Well, work has recommenced on the Mosquito at last! The bomb bay is taking a while, but it's getting there. Afterwards, it'll just be a case of sticking the other bits onto it before painting. I'm swithering on painting it as W/C Roy Grant's aircraft, or one of the others - although most references I've seen are for Grant's aircraft.

I'm almost finished another Dunkirk aircraft - the Spitfire VB. I've already done a Spitfire Ia from the film, but I was never happy with it, so the Mk.V (Hobby Boss kit) is getting the treatment.

Speaking of Dunkirk, everyone has seen this, I take it?

Bugger, I've just realised there's another three aircraft in that film - Blenheim, Heinkel and Stuka....!
