The B-25 turned out really nicely Daren and I'm looking forward to seeing that CASA 111 being completed, that is a good bit of conversion work IMHO.

After seeing the movie Dunkirk last week I think there is another Spitfire to be done. There are three Spitfires in the movie but the one above the beach begs to be made. And you can add the prop

I did the Spitfire VB from the film a wee while ago - the two Mk.Is will be in a dogfight with the Buchon.... ;-)

Just ordered one of these for the movie collection....

"So what?" I hear you cry!

Well, this plane is called a Viima, and it just so happens to have had a starring role in one of my favourite war films of all time - Aces High. The aircraft played with a single-seater and two-seater scout on the side of the Germans, up against modified Stampe SV.4s playing SE.5as....

Lovely progress Daz.

Do you think you'll ever finish this project?

Oh yeah! There's not much left to do, build wise, so I think it would be done by next week.

Thanks, Nigel.

I'll get another coat of black-green on later, and then maybe have a crack at assembling the fiddly bits (undercarriage and glazing).

I WILL get this bugger built!

Well, we're getting there - that distinctive cockpit section really makes the thing start to look like a Heinkel.

HOWEVER.....

I mentioned previously that I was going to assemble the landing gear for the thing as part of the final push. I attempted to cut one of the legs off the sprue - very gently - and the bloody thing broke in half, right in the middle. I glued it together, and attempted to join it on to the wheel, but my gut feeling was that it simply wouldn't hold the weight of the model, even with the other struts attached.

So, I decided to fit the model up as though it was "in flight". Of course, this was after I had put the nose glazing on. And I hadn't painted any of the crew.

Bugger.
