I dithered over whether to include this one:
Image

Yes, we all know it as Guy Martin's Spitfire, so technically I suppose it should really be in the collection. However, I recently saw a clip from the ITV drama series The Halcyon, set in 1940, where a Spitfire scramble is shown....

Look who makes an appearance in it! So yes, N3200 should really be in there, too.

Excellent Daren, just excellent stuff.

Just as a suggestion mate, Ikea do tall glass cabinets for £50 each.

I have got a few and they keep the dust down. They are a pain to assemble but they do the trick.
Cheers

James Garner and Donald Pleasance did indeed escape in a Bestmann....

....but my model is of a Bf108 Taifun.

Image

After a bit of digging, I managed to find the information I was looking for, so this model will go well with the Mosquito I built recently.... ;-)

The Taifun doubled for its bigger brother, the Bf109, in a few movies, but it's probably best known for appearing in this:

Image

The '108 (or its French-built equivalent, the Nord 1002 Pingouin) appears in two scenes in this film - during a spectacular airfield attack about halfway through the film, and at the end, where they battle with 633's Mosquitos as they try to bomb the fuel factory.

Image

What few photos I've managed to source on the internet show the '108s in colour scheme somewhat reminiscent of this:

Next up after this, and the golden oldie GB builds I'm doing, is something slightly different from the norm....

This one, I reckon, will be one of the Hurricanes seen at the start of Battle of Britain.

Haha, I knew that would please some people! :ha:

Yes, I haven't built a Hurricane in a while, and this one was staring at me from the cupboard, pleading to be built.

I couldn't turn it down, really! ;-)

Hurricanes were used in the films Angels One-Five and Reach for the Sky, as well as Battle of Britain. A Hurricane also appeared very briefly in the film Water Horse.

I have at least two more in the stash, so stay tuned! :ha:

Angels One-Five stars Jack Hawkins, John Gregson, Michael Denison and Dulcie Gray. It came out about a year or two before one of my other favourites, Malta Story.

Dunkirk doesn't have any Hurricanes, although they are mentioned.
