Pretty darned busy there Daren, well done. The conversion work on the Buchon is pretty cool.

Well, here's the next one to join the collection - a Mosquito from 633 Squadron!!
I'm quite pleased with the way it's turned out, although the bomb bay gave me a few headaches at the time. Of course, though, it means that I have to build a Messerschmitt 108 to go with it....!

And another....
Spitfire VB EP122, as used in the film Dunkirk. The kit (what there is of it, anyway!) is mostly out of the box, with only the addition of undercarriage doors and replacement parts for the propeller and canopy involved in the build.
If you've not had a go at a HobbyBoss model of any type, I implore you to try one. From what I've seen, they go together well, they look pretty good on completion, and they're pretty cheap as well. It's a shame, though, that you can't do much to alter the Spitfire's cockpit, as it's moulded inside the fuselage!

Re: Daz's Movie Madness!
I knew it as a TV show, made in Yugoslavia IIRC and broadcast with English subtitles on SBS in Australia. From unreliable memory, it featured ex-Swiss Air Force C-3603 fighters on both sides (since, in the show, the partisans stole "their" aircraft).DazDaMan wrote:Oooh, I forgot about that film! And there's a thought: how about doing a Mirage IIIC and Vautour from The Aeronauts (aka Les Chevaliers du Ciel)?

Ahhh, hold on.
I think this is the film we're discussing here (Battle Squadron being the title I have in my collection).
The film features numerous Soko 522 and Soko P-2 aircraft, playing both the German and Yugoslav aircraft:
There's also a couple of Stearman biplanes in the earlier sequences.
I haven't seen it in a while, but it's worth a watch for the aerial action.

Wow, these film star builds are coming thick and fast Daren. Great Mossie and Spit. Can't say I've heard of Battle Squadron and judging by the choice of aircraft used, this was a Yugoslav production?
Doing - Tamiya 1/35th Universal Carrier.

Yep, released in the 1970s I think.
It's not a bad film, really, but just watch it for the flying sequences!

Re: Daz's Movie Madness!
So, this has been a work in progress - and it's taken a lot longer than usual!
Spitfire IX ML417 was one of six used in the flying sequences for the TV series Piece of Cake. In the first episode of the series, the aircraft all wore squadron codes, but they were removed as they provided continuity issues for the editing department!
This is the KP kit. Not a difficult build, but the cockpit area needs some work (mine was built OOB, so the instrument panel is decidedly "meh"). Decals are all courtesy of the spares box.
Another Spitfire project will be this one:
It came in a box of damaged/partially-complete models that I acquired from someone on Facebook, and only composed of the parts you see here! Like a lot of full-sized projects, though, I'm sure the missing parts will come from a variety of sources. I haven't yet decided on the film subject, but I reckon it could be a Dark Blue World Spitfire by the end of it.

Re: Daz's Movie Madness!
Bags of work going on here Daren, great stuff.
I think a Dark Blue World Spitfire is a must for your collection, if you need any spare parts I have a few so just ask.

Yes indeed, these film star builds are coming thick and fast. That is another great looking Spit, Daren. I agree, those classic French Aeronauts jets would look good.
