Airfix Fokker Eindekker
Morning Chaps
This is not a valley I normally stroll around in, but I am a big fan of the Airfix WW1 Aircraft. The bug bit me when I were but a wee lad and has stayed with me ever since, so when the two new WW1 aircraft came out, I had to have them.
Finished in Valejo colours and I must say, an excellent kit and great fun to build.
This is the first aircraft i've built in close to 15 years
Thanks for lookng

The Fokker Scourge!
Welcome back to the hobby!
Great model! 15 years made no difference, unless you got better at it!
cheers,
David

That's an impressive return, Steve. Great finish, I've never had much success with Vallejo paints but you seem to have mastered them.MAD STEVE wrote:This is the first aircraft i've built in close to 15 years

Yeah I've been using Vallejo on Tanks for quite a while so I've become quite used to them, but due to lack of more available down here, i'm now slowly changing over to Tamiya Acrylics.

Very nicely done Steve. I've had mixed results with paints from the Vallejo Air range through my airbrush but find Tamiya paints to be consistently good, thinned with X-20, although I'm not a fan of their clear coats and tend to switch back to Humbrol clears, despite the smell of the white spirits that I use to thin them!
Doing - Tamiya 1/35th Universal Carrier.

Nice work; you'd never tell you'd been away!
Best wishes

If you can walk away from a landing, it's a good landing. If you use the airplane the next day, it's an outstanding landing

Re: Airfix Fokker Eindekker
I would tend to agree Shaun as I've seen paint differ from bottle to bottle with some of the Vallejo stuff, but i do find the tamiya acrylics to be constant and quite frankly much easier to use.ShaunW wrote:Very nicely done Steve. There's been one of these on the shelves of my LMS for ages. It may not be there much longer.
