1/72 AZ model Fw190d9 8/JG2 Richthofen, Reich Defence 1944

Post by Marek »

Finally got to shoot my AZ model 1/72 Dora:
Markings used came partially from the kit (I am not thrilled with their decals too much, they tend to lack definition sometimes) and partially from old Super Scale International 72-600 set. Used exclusively Vallejo model air and primer. Model itself does not bring anything else than pleasure. One of unusual features is full wheel wells and engine back interior behind firewall, it comes in resin and I have to say it surpasses anything I have seen in this scale so far.
Fw190D9 of 8/JG2 Richtofen, Reichs Defence 1944. Kit is well worth its price.

Beautiful! The paintwork is excellent and the mottling is spot on 8-)
Best wishes

Agreed that the paintwork is superb, the rest of the model is also first class.

Oh no! Do I have to buy one of these too?
Fantastic build! And you have done the subtle mottling extremely well.

Cheers,

Thank You guys! It was a very refreshing build. And I do recommend the kit fully, even as a donor for some parts, if you desire so.

Excellent work Marek, that really is a great looking Dora. From your photos it looks like the AZ kit has some nice detail.

That is a wonderfully subtle paint job, particularly in 1/72.

I love the FW190D9, it may not have the graceful lines of a Spitfire, but it is a handsome beast. Your work really does it justice.

Excellent job, especially on the weathered effect of the paint. So many seem overdone, but you have captured it brilliantly.

That is superb. Did you fade the paint on what would normally be highlighted areas? because that even has the scale light of the real thing 8-)
