This is my continuation from the Matchbox GB that I just couldn't finish this for. Work is continuing however....
Mostly paint adjusting and repainting to try and make everything neat!!. I've decided that I now hate yellow!!!. It seems a messy and annoying colour to work with and dries slloooooowly. Halifax is now getting more neat treatment...

That camo is so effective I can barely see the model on your workbench
It's looking really good. I agree yellow is a pain to apply but the scheme looks great on your Halifax.

You're lucky you can see my bench!! . The true surface hasn't seen the light of day for years. I'm now sick of yellow, one attempt to tidy the edges around the eniines makes more to clean up and so on. But I'm glad I did this scheme.

Decals on, well going on. They are now complete.
Slight problem painting the elastic I used for the aerial wire...
Of course this was a result of painting it so it has straightened a little but might need replacing. Otherwise she's done.

A hard-fought victory by the tone of the build thread, and it looks a corker!
What paint did that to the elastic?

Thanks, it's probably a distance looker, she's a bit untidy really!!. As for the paint it was Humbrol 33 black, the elastic didn't tighten up so i had to detach one end and stretch it tight. All good now.iggie wrote:A hard-fought victory by the tone of the build thread, and it looks a corker!

Great work Mark, I'm glad you managed to get this one done. Good choice of subject too, I don't think I've seen a Halifax prototype modelled before.
Doing - Tamiya 1/35th Universal Carrier.

Thank you. No, most Hali's are operational ones but as soon as I saw the colour scheme in the Warpaint I felt I had to model that one. Still fed up with yellow though!!. To be fair I should have tried painting the engines before they went on the model. Plus only one of the props goes around, mostly due to a tight fit on the others and me glueing them shut accidentally. They wouldn't move therefore when I needed to get at the engine sides!!.ShaunW wrote:Great work Mark, I'm glad you managed to get this one done.
