1/72 Revell AG/Matchbox Dassault Mystere IVA

Post by Marek »

Greetings guys,
I managed to finish the Mystery / Surprise for the Nifty Fifties Group Build yesterday thus I am happy to present my latest mediocrity:
Dassault Mystere IVA, 7-BQ, No.321 of Escadron de Chasse 2/7 "Nice". Done almost 'oob' with exception of scratchbuilt cockpit, bang-seat (Matchbox decided to place the French pilot on a sort of a toilet rather than ejection seat). Pitot tube, VHF antenna and gun barrels from stretched sprue. Rescribed to resemble modern kit and antenna behind the cockpit made using spare PE part from kit long-gone. I am happy it is finally over as I love early jets but started being little 'under-the-kit' because of impatience of mine. NMF with Model Master metalizers: aluminum buffing and non-buffing. Dirtying on a heavier side to cover some rescribing and surface preparation mistakes (Honesty in the era of Photoshop :)).

That turned out very nice. With a little bit of attention, Matchbox kits can produce a very nice model.

Really good effort. I particularly like the first picture, it has a nice weathered look about it.

Nice work Marek, I've built a couple of these myself so appreciate the effort you have put into this.

You don't see too many of these built up, probably for a good reason :D You've done a lovely job of that Marek.

Excellent work Marek and what a great looking early French jet the Mystere is.
